Clairemont Mesa Boulevard between SR 163 and I-15 in San Diego is part of the route served by the MTS 235 Rapid that runs between the Escondido Transit Center and Downtown San Diego. This section of the route is served by three stations for each direction, with stations at Complex Street, Overland Drive, and Ruffin Road. Major destinations along Clairemont Mesa Boulevard include the Kearny Mesa Transit Center, County of San Diego offices, Kaiser Permanente Hospital, and a variety of commercial retail and office uses.
KOA was issued a task order by SANDAG to provide final design documents for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) stations for five of the current Rapid 235 stops in the corridor. The scope of services included development of the station platform footprint, station shelter and amenities design, traffic signal modifications, communications, striping and signing, and Class IV bikeway adjacent to each station.
