KOA conducted feasibility study and prepared plans, specification, and cost estimation (PS&E) for a 10 mile bike facility along Daisy Avenue and Myrtle Avenue in the City of Long Beach. The project is currently under construction with KOA provides construction assistance services. This north-south bikeway project provides connections from Downtown Long Beach to North Long Beach through multiple neighborhoods and several schools with close to 2000 students. It brings traffic calming and multimodal improvements to the corridor through treatments such as roundabouts, mini traffic circles, pedestrian refuge islands, traffic signal, bicycle detectors, and other greenway facilities. Through the project development process, KOA worked closely with City staff, conducted public outreach and managed more than four sub-consultants.
