KOA was selected by the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority to conduct a study to provide a public transit connection to the Ontario International Airport.  The 16-month study, which was funded by the San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG) and the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG), included:  1) community workshops and open houses to gather public comment;  2) Assessed public rights-of-way and private transportation rights-of-way;  3) Conducted traffic analyses;  4) Evaluated land use information from the participating cities;  5) potential rail routes, and station locations;  6) and explored transit-oriented development opportunities. The purpose of this project was to evaluate light rail connections from the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension’s proposed terminus in Montclair to the LA/Ontario International Airport by developing preliminary alternatives that can be considered in a future Alternatives Analysis Phase with the Federal Transportation Administration (FTA), in order to seek discretionary funds and move into a project development process.
