La Bonita Park, Harbor Blvd. and La Plaza Channel and Storm Drain Improvements, La Habra, California
For cost effectiveness the City of La Habra combined the La Bonita Storm Drain Improvement Project, Harbor Boulevard Storm Drain Improvement Project and La Plaza Channel Improvement Project into one project. The combined overall project was completed 2.5 months ahead of schedule and within budget. CBM Consulting (now KOA) performed construction management of the $3.3 million project which included installation of 4626 linear feet of storm drain pipe lines, and construction of 177 linear feet of RCB structures as well as a 20,000 cubic yard detention basin. In addition, the project involved the replacement of 2531 linear feet of the existing La Plaza Channel with a new reinforced concrete open trapezoidal channel. The improvements provided by this project have diverted surface water run-off from the neighboring streets and directed it into the enlarged La Plaza Channel. APWA So. Cal.
